
Myrtle Cottage is to be found behind the Village Church of St. Andrews, in the Village of Okeford Fitzpaine.
From the A357, coming from The Blandford Forum direction, Okeford Fitzpaine is sign posted, on the left, in the village of Shillingstone, just past the garage and shop. Upon entering the Village via Shillingstone Lane, St. Andrews church is to be found on the left hand side of the road upon a small hill. To the right hand side of the Churchyard is a lane called Greenhayes. Proceed to the top of this short lane and park in the car park.
From the A357, if coming from the Sturminster Newton direction, Okeford Fitzpaine is sign posted and on the right, approx 2 miles past the Fiddleford Inn. Turn right and follow this road for approx 1 mile to the village centre. The Royal Oak pub is to be found on the right. Proceed straight past and turn left at the green phone box / village shop. Proceed for approx 400 yards. In front of you is St. Andrews church. Turn right before the church into Greenhayes and proceed to the top of this short lane and park in the car park.
Walk a short distance back down the Greenhayes lane, from the car park. A cream thatched cottage will be to your right.
Proceed past the cream cottage on the right, and at the end of the cottage, but before the church yard railings is a path leading up to the right.
Proceed up to the top of this path, approx 15 yards, the churchyard side gate will be in front of you, and the gate to Myrtle Cottage can be found to your right at the top of three small brick steps. Please close the gate securely behind you.
